Progress Update #2

So I was trying to post once a week for a while. It’s come to my attention that it’s been about a month since the last time I posted. It’s not that I haven’t been working on the game. I have. It’s just that the work i’m doing right now isn’t very.. how should I put it?… sexy? I’m doing the basic development stuff that doesn’t create any cool looking screen shots or new incites into game development.  I’ve been so deep in the weeds that I’ve neglected posting all together.

What I have been working on and re-working on is replication and the first person game play for the game.  But I’ve gotten it working and I think I’m in the clear for now. A word to the wise though for anyone trying to create first person shooter mechanics in their games is to check out the new Unreal Tournament’s source code. That’s been immensely helpful to me so far. Hopefully I’ll have a more flushed out update on just how great having the source code for the new unreal game has been but that is for another post.
